MUSIC

Music is an accessible, universal and natural form of expression which is used as a multi-level educational tool at IDEAL Society.
Over the past 12 years, the evolution of our music programs and activities has made it possible for a group of singers, beginners and professionals, to form the Vera Choir and Instrumental Ensemble which has performed in many public venues in North America.

The Instrumental Ensemble is composed of professional musicians from many nationalities. Special attention is given to younger and less experienced members and they are offered solid musical training that allows them to fully develop their musical skills.

The repertoire includes sacred and folk music from around the world, as well as classical pieces and new compositions by members of IDEAL Society. Our work is shared with audiences and friends through concerts and the production of CDs.

In November 2003 and May 2004 the Vera Choir performed at the United Nations and at several consulates and missions in New York City.

IDEAL Society participates in several local and international music and art programs for children.

A selection of recordings by the Vera Choir and Instrumental Ensemble is available in OUR PRODUCTS.

“...Music has flexible, adaptable characteristics which gives everyone the opportunity to participate in a collective creative endeavour. Music finds a voice through various instruments, offering individuals or large groups freedom of expression without depriving anyone of his/her own uniqueness. Because of its harmonizing qualities, the intermingling of multiple voices, sounds and tones, music is a wonderful tool for the cultivation of mutual tolerance and cooperation.
Through the art of choral singing, students acquire a sense of proportion and balance. Making the right sound encourages the singer to comply with the strict rules of harmony. The more each participant masters these techniques and develops his/her artistic expression, the more he/she will contribute to the collective experience and develop a fraternal consciousness…“
