Celebrations

At IDEAL Society, in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the omnipresence of nature instills its rhythm into all aspects of daily life. Work with the earth and other educational and artistic activities flows with the seasons and is punctuated by festivities which enrich the life of our community. Throughout the year, our celebrations harmonize with the rhythm of the seasons. These major festivals are opportunities to celebrate the life and abundance of the lessons which nature offers us. Each season brings its own unique energy and quality. We seek to harmonize our activities with these currents and resonate with them. Nature thus becomes a source of inspiration - musical, poetic, artistic and philosophical. A deeper understanding of the laws of nature instills itself in us and enriches our vision of the world. Music is at the heart of each celebration. Through our experience of singing together, we cultivate, above and beyond our cultural differences, harmonious connections with each other, which we can then maintain among ourselves and with life. These celebrations are opportunities for children to express their talents, for families to live special moments together and for all, young and old, to enjoy an atmosphere of sharing and joy. Lived communally, these are moments of renewal, where each one feels nourished and can then return to his or her former activities with renewed enthusiasm. Visitors from many different countries and residents find themselves sharing different cultural experiences, where the talents of each are an opportunity for discovery and enrichment for all. In addition to these special celebrations, we have presentations of artistic creations throughout the year. These are the fruit of work created around varied themes, which provide opportunities to encourage and celebrate the creative expression of each individual.
