Leisure activities are an opportunity to explore nature and uncover new ways of living in harmony with the environment. IDEAL Society has promoted many student trips to Asia, Europe and North America where participants are guided into different cultural aspects of each country by specialists in religion, architecture and philosophy. Apart from being unique and unforgettable, these experiences enhance the awareness of humanity as being one family.
Field trips, hiking, trekking, and other activities enhance
our appreciation and respect for our environment and develop
our sense of mutual collaboration and self awareness within the group.

Trekking in long beach, Vancouvert Island
In 1999, a group of 30 students
from many nationalities travelled across India and
Nepal during 6 weeks, following a careful and detailed
study program. This included visits to universities and monasteries
with specialized guides, lectures on subjects such as medical science,
psychology, astrology, history, architecture, geometry, education and
ethnography (customs, behaviours and lifestyles) and visits to a Sanskrit school
and an astrology centre in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The students put together a video
of what they learned during their trip, as well as a collection of photographs.

Thar desert, Rajasthan India
"The beauty of the Indian and Nepalese people who we learned to know and love is the first thing that struck me. We visited places and monuments, ashrams and natural reserves. We discovered the wealth of stories, legends and celebrations of a people whose traditions and customs translate a deep age-old devotion to beauty."
Fernande Roy
" ...after a short boatride we reached the caves of Elephanta near Bombay.
Away from the heat of the sun we discovered ancient basalt carvings of Shiva,
the dancing god. These silent and barren caves were once a busy religious site ,
and my imagination struggled to grasp how artists thousands of years ago carved
these temples with their hands out of the living rock... ".
