Prenatal education

prenatal education child's

“It is every mother's dream to have a beautiful, intelligent and healthy child! Yet mothers need tounderstand that 90% of their opportunity to influence a child’s development occurs while the child is still growing within the womb. After birth, the influence of parents and educators on the child’s development is comparatively minimal.

Careful preliminary training is needed, ideally for both parents. For example, before

beginning her work, a mother can learn how to provide her child with the best

possible "raw materials" for "building" its physical and psychic bodies.

She can be educated in directing her mind consciously, so that

she can symbolically "cover" her future child with "gold."

There are many examples of mothers who have

worked successfully in this way, bringing into the world

healthy and well-balanced children. The promise of a brighter future

for humanity is closely linked with prenatal education. Through appropriate

prenatal education our current violence-oriented society can gradually be transformed

into a saner, better balanced and more creative generation of human beings…"

Eastern wisdom says that

If you want prosperity for 1 year, grow rice.
If you want prosperity for 10 years, plant a tree.
If you want prosperity for 100 years, educate your children
.

We are especially interested in implementing Prenatal Education programs designed for future parents, pregnant women and young families.
Striving to take nature as a model, here is a tentative list of the principal points applied by our educators. For out purpose let’s call them the 5 letters E, or the 5 conditions for the healthy development of the child.

1. If we observe how Mother Nature proceeds, we see that before planting and cultivating anything, she forms an Eco-logical environment by preparing the soil. This is the 1st E. The origin of the word Ecological comes from the Greek "oikos", meaning "house" and "logos" science. How does Mother Nature prepare "houses" for her children, her seeds? If we want prosperity for at least 100 years and we want to care for our children, the 1st step is therefore the preparation of the ecological environment for future children.

The main actors in the creation of a good family environment are the parents, who like the farmer prepare the best soil to cultivate the qualities and virtues of their future child. An environmentally friendly, harmonious milieu is needed: a united, conscious, harmonious couple who is ready to prepare this “home”. Pollution found in nature is the result of a family environment which is too often "polluted", chaotic and violent.

2. From this first condition depends the 2nd E : the Eco-nomic aspect.
This does not refer to the family’s budget, but rather to the energy management, primarily on the mental level where the parents form the “architectural design” of their child :

What kind of being do the parents plan to bring into the world ?
What goals will this child pursue ?
What achievements will the child contribute to the human family ?

In the realm of feelings and desires, parents can plan and use the energy of the virtues and qualities that will form a benefactor for mankind. So the child will in turn enrich humanity with his/her work.

On the physical level, energies managed harmoniously in a peaceful and non-violent environment will foster a balanced and peaceful being. Health, intelligence and beauty are the manifestation of the true economy of energy on 3 levels.

Moreover, "oikonomia" means "administration of the house" : oikos - home
name (ia) - good administration devoid of waste or loss of energy.

3. These 2 conditions being fulfilled, we arrive at the 3rd E, Education, which can be defined as the driving and directing of the above mentioned energies towards the child by parents who are models and examples for their children. The latter generally imitate their parents to perfection.

The word "educate" stems from "ducere" meaning "drive". To educate is to orientate the child in the right direction, to teach him how to behave. During pregnancy, the child registers 90% of the behavior and general state of being of the parents. The mother especially can accomplish a great deal with her thoughts which are all powerful in their influence on her future child. After the birth, only 10% of the child’s education is to be taken care of.

4. The 4th E is the level of Ethics that provide indications for moral conduct to :

a) Raise the awareness of parents for an expanded vision;
b) Consider the family as a living cell, an essential component which composes society;
c) Consider humanity as a family;
d) Envision humanity as a living organism where countries represent different organs.

5. The 5th E is Aesthetics. "Aistetikos" means "feel" a sense of perception of beauty which can be implemented by :
a) Providing prenatal education centers in beautiful natural environments;
b) Where future mothers can take part in workshops and appropriate courses and exercises;
c) Preparing mothers for a pre-natal and post-natal exchange with nature through the discovery of its beauty;
d) The participation of future parents in creative and artistic work.

The 5 E’s are represented and synthesized by a 6th E, Equilibrium or Balance, a beneficial result for parents, children, society and for all humanity.

" At IDEAL Society we are encouraged to be ourselves subjects for our own study, including our thoughts and feelings in order to become better people and parents. We offer the fruit of that labor to our children. For me this is a new way of looking at education and the only way, because it comes not from the outside but from within…"

A. Gilbert, mother of two

" Have assisted two mothers in giving birth at IDEAL Society and I think midwifery has a special place here. The needs of future parents are met by a team of caring therapists and they are surrounded by many forms of arts. The focus of the community is to provide a loving and supportive environment for the benefit of the future child…"
